Garden Party:  A Walk in the Garden – a Bloomin’ Success

“The event is called A Walk in the Garden, so naturally we had it here.”

GARDEN PARTY PICAlthough an unlikely spot for a garden party, The Suburban Buick Co. showroom was transformed on Saturday, May 6th, 2006 for the beautiful “Walk in The Garden” event. Many supporters, old and new, celebrated the recent naming of the Jack H. Marston II Healing Garden located at the new Advocate Lutheran General Cancer Center and celebrated the life and contributions of the man it was named for.

Guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers, but the party really got into gear when the guys from 176 Keys Dueling Pianos took the stage. With a show combining requests and songs ranging from country to rock and roll and everything in between, the dueling piano’s provided spirited entertainment all evening long.

The fundraiser included a silent and live auction with Chicago Bear alumni, Revie Sorey as the guest auctioneer. Revie did a fantastic job of building the crowd’s interest and enthusiasm and was successful in raising over $10,000 in the live auction. The evening’s proceeds topped $25,000 that went to support the continuing research, awareness and outreach programs of Jack’s Fund.

A sincere thank you to all those who attended, the donors who contributed and to our presenting sponsors Chris and Susie Warden of Advanced Healthcare Associates and Kim Bushy of Suburban Buick Co.
